HAVE TRAVELED TO CANADA SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS AND WOULD LIKE TO TAKE SOME OF MY RELATIVES NEXT VISIT. I AM CONCERNED IF WE GET TO THE BORDER THAT WE MAY NOT ENTER /LEAVE DO TO PREVIOUS HISTORY CRIMINAL/ARREST OF A RELATIVE. WE HAVE BEEN TRING TO RESEARCH WHAT TYPE OF ARRESTS ETC... WOULD NOT ALLOW US TO CROSS THE BORDERS BY LAND. I HAVE SEARCHED CANADIAN CUSTOMS WITH NO RESULTS. WE HAVE PREVIOUSLY HEARD FROM OTHER PEOPLE (QUESTIONABLE IF THEY NEW THE LAW) THAT IF YOU HAD A OWI (OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE INTOXICATED)THAT YOU WONT BE ABLE TO ENTER CANADA OR BACK INTO THE UNITED STATES. ALSO IF A PERSON HAD A FELONY BE DENIED ACCESS TO CANADA/USA. ANY INFO WOULD REALLY BE HELPFUL.

There are many reasons why a person that is trying to enter Canada, would not be admitted.
Keep in mind that all records of people who have been charged and convicted of any wrong doings are
available to security officers by looking on the computer.
DUIs fraud, felony, possession of child porn, drug related issues, fraud, inebriation, incarceration to name a few. Frisk searches, whole body searches and trips to a hospital for an X-ray are regular procedures to detect
for possession of drugs. If found, the person is arrested immediately.
Having a person in your group with any of the above, could spoil your trip.

I live near the Canadian border, and I know for a fact that if someone has been convicted of a DWI/DUI/ OUI they won't be allowed into Canada if it's discovered. Same goes with felonies.

You wanna capitalize Canadian and American first. Second, It's not wise to take that family member with you if you want the trip to go without a hitch. Security is really tight and everyone is screened. I live in Detroit and although visiting Windsor is equivilent to crossing the street, I wouldn't dare bring anyone with me who is (as we say) "dirty". I'm not telling you what I've heard, I'm telling you what I know. ;|
