well we have a lot of classes to gether (sixth graders) and when ever we are paired together he always acts so sweet and shy to me but then when his best friend (obnoxious sixth grader) is around they are always obnoxious together. i also catch him staring at me like in science i sit at the back of the room and he sits in the front
when the teacher comes by me everybody always turnes and stares at him but then when the teacher goes back up to the front of the room they turn back around
sometimes i see that he's the only one still turned around and looking right into my face
does he like me or what

Of course he does!!!
He is caught between his buddies, and liking somebody special, like you.
Don't be surprised if he does something stupid and later regrets it, being that his buddies will razz him every chance they can, just to get a laugh.
Deep down, the kid likes you a lot. He can't help it. He is reaching an age where little kid stuff is not as important. A lot of learning experience is going on here.

Liking someone can be so undefined when you're in sixth grade, but if I were in your place I would flirt with him and see if he flirts back. If you like him, ask him out. Don't be shy (believe me, you can waste some time by being shy) I'm in eighth grade and I was really shy in sixth grade and now when I look back, I can remember all the times that, if I wasn't shy, I could have benefited a lot from it. I'm sry if I'm wasting your time by typing this, but take risks and flirt with him. But not to the extent to being like a whore or something....yeah. be sweet and good luck!!!!

I think that he likes you, he is just kinda not sure of himself, that is why when he is around his friend he acts different that when he is by himself with you.
As for advise I can not be totally sure what to do, I guess all you really can do is play it by year, or just ask him what he really thinks of you. Do whatever feels right for you.

well how u described it it sounds like a yes. whe i was in 6th grade i was friends with the girl i liked and she said i did a lot of that stuff. so sounds like it.
