One should not be so quick to deny the possiblity of a renewed draft one day. Some very influential Democrats are advocating just that. To determine what ages a draft might cover, one needs to review war history. If the conflict becomes too arduous or lengthy, the draft has been extended to those much older than the 20 somethings. If it happened once, you can bet on it being possible in the future. That which has been tried and positively tested in the past is closer to reality than that which has never been.

I hear over and over that there are no plans for a draft and that there will never be another draft. The machine that they use to select the names for the draft is being tested over the next year or so. If they planned on never having another draft then they wouldn't test the machine. I feel like one day in the future its comming. I have also heard that when it does women will also be subject to be drafted...Equal rights. Also people with special skills will be put in positions where they will be more useful.... doctors, nurses, firefighters, computer specialists, ect

A new reinstatemet of the draft would call for 18-32 years of age. Still got 7 years if it happens.

It doesn't matter since no one is going to get drafted anyway.

It just doesn't make sense to send a bunch of conscripts to fight for freedom.
