I am seeing this guy who is such a gentleman, he never lets me pay for anything.. We have gone on 3 dates so far.. and all 3 dates he takes me to the nicest restaurants... He never gives me the chance to pay because its an insult to him. How can i invite him to dinner and pay for it without insulting him? How should i convince him?

Truth is it is very thoughtful of you to care, but I personally would never accept money from one of my dates for dinner. Maybe next time you go out trying buying him something to bring and explain to him that since he wont let you pay for dinner youd like to show your appreciation by a meaningful gift instead. He wont let you pay, and just be grateful and show him that you care. If hes such a gentleman that would probably mean more to him than the 50 dollar bill.

That is an easy question to answer, start out buying little things and work your way up. Buy him a coffee or tea and a donut, go to a fair and buy him an elephant ear, find out what he likes and just step away and get him his treat. When you find out what he likes and take the time to get that it's thoughtful. Don't overdo it just have fun and to it.

Let's hope he is old fashion in all the best ways too, those kinds of guys are hard to find. Have fun and make both of you some wonderful memories.

Tell him that you appreciate the fact that he has paid for the past three meals. Then tell him that you would like to pay for the next one because you feel uncomfortable just letting him pay. Say that you have been raised to share the cost even on dates. If he still says no - then he probably is a secret control freak. If that's the case dump him.

Well, just tell him that it makes you feel bad that he always pays, and that you just want to pay at least once, and then the next time it'll be his turn again. If he really likes you he should be considerate of your feelings.
Just try to explain things to him and maybe don't say it in a tone that's too serious, but more in a playing tone "How about we take turns paying?".
I'm sure everything will turn out great!!

I remember being in your shoes. He was constantly paying for everything and started to feel uncomfortable. the next time we went to a resturant and the menus were placed and i told him
"look i have been having a wonderful time with you but there is just one thing that makes me really uncomfortable, i feel like i come, eat and i go. I will only order todays meal if we mutually agree that starting today we alternate paying for the night outs. I pay today and you pay the next".

I told him what i really felt and since then we have been alternating and i never felt uncomfortable again.

It depends on your relationship so far. If you feel secure about it then just simply state your request. If things are going well, he will understand and respond. If not, then it is your first bump in the road and you can either wait till you two are closer to talk about it or maybe you don't like him enough. If you have more money than he does, just put it that you would like to take him out this week. Try that.

Nice question.

You have to respect that that is a guy thing. Be thankful you don't have a guy who wants you to pay for everything. He seems a little old fashioned... and thats nice.

You could invite him out to dinner, say you want to do something nice for him. Just make it seem like the date is all about making him happy and treating him like a king. That might work.

Before you get the check excuse yourself from the table and take your purse and pay the bill on the way to the bathroom. And when he says something about it simply say "I just went ahead a paid it was on my way to the ladies room" and if he says anything tell you that he can treat you to icecream or better yet breakfast the next morning. Trust me he will forget all about that bill. It works....trust me!

My boyfriend was like that too. I just let him pay. It's not worth arguing over. If you insist then it will probably piss him off because he was raised that way.
