"Paradoxically, a person who exhibits such tremendous ego and self-confidence in reality has such low self-esteem and such a fragile ego that he cannot abide any expression other than his own, for fear of annihilation of the self. Therefore everything that is not under his control is perceived as a threat."

stop looking so deep into a situation!!!!

What about the bully's that are just broke! they see something that they want and they have the muscle to take it!

like Bush! he saw a election that he wanted and he had the muscle to take it!

remember your brain is a muscle too! it is also a strength. Like your physical arm, leg muscle. hit harder run faster. All advantages.

all bully don't have a depressed life, that's just a excuse when they are caught and want sympathy for their actions and about to face the consciouses.

About the people that have been abused and just snap without knowing are usually not the bully but the victim. They usually try to stay away from people so they wont know their secret of abuse. Eventually when it continue it like instinct you blank out things happen so fast you can't remember step by step, but its not in a sense to hurt the person but get away. If the abuser doesn't realize it and continue to come after them they will fight back! not knowing the strength of a scared person the abuser becomes brutally hurt.

Actually, while that's the classical wisdom, every psychological study of bullies has shown the exact opposite.

Bullies are bullies because they really DO believe they are the best and that everyone else SHOULD be kept in their place.

You'd have to do some digging but I know within the past two years, Discover Magazine did an article on bullies pointing this out.

This is actually a common misconception. The truth (through psychological studies) is that bullies are narcissistic. It is not a case of low self esteem. Although it would be nice to think that those jerks had low self esteem.

No, I know many bullies who are very self-confident. They are just mean people. But, many fit what you are talking about. I think we need more bullies. We have to many pansies in the world today.

I think it would be probably best if you asked a Psychologist who specialized in that part of the brain.
