I took a strepsils tablet today for a sore throat and the back of my throat became really numb, then later on I ate and it still feels like a bit of it was stuck in my throat. It actually feels like it's in the bit connecting my nasel passages and my throat. It's really annoying me- how do I get it out?!?!

No wait I didn't explain right. The tablet disolved fine but because my throat was numb, I found it really hard to swallow my food and i think a piece of that got stuck.

You are getting a cold and PS those tablets that make your throat numb are not good for you!!! They are made with formaldehyde which is the main ingredient in embalming fluid( the stuff they put in dead people) Just drink a lot of hot fluids! And get a lot of rest!

It's actually not likely that there is really something there...it just FEELS like it. It's more likely you have swelling due to your sore throat. Another possibility is that you are having a bit of acid reflux, which can give you a sensation of a lump in your throat. Even if you aren't normally prone to reflux, you can have it when you are sick, as many medications, as well as drainage can create extra acid on your stomach. Try taking a couple of Tums or Rolaids to see if this helps. Good luck.

That is probably a sign that you are coming with a cold. Try drinking lots of warm tea or water. If it doesn't make it better really soon, take some medication for it or see a doctor.

It's mucus----not the tablet. They do dissolve. You can gargle with warm salt water....that WILL help to get it out.

Get a decongestant at the drug store.

I think it is more of a sensation than anything else. You'll be fine but drink a lot of liquids.

My grandma always told me to eat some bread if I had that problem. It seems to work.
