I know being late can be a habit for some, but what about the person who just has to keep people waiting, they organise their life so that it's inevitable that some one is waiting for them, could this be some kind of sickness?

I have known people like this and it is so frustrating. I think it is entirely possible that some people have a compulsion toward being late. But on the flip side, I think there are just some personalities that cannot move quickly or manage time well. I have family members that cannot seem to understand that if we need to leave home in 20 minutes for a dinner reservation, then there isn't enough time to rearrange the furniture or wash the dog. It's craziness in some form! :)

I don't know that keeping people waiting is considered a "sickness", but in the DSM-IV, which is the book that Mental Health professionals use to diagnose patients, there is a Personality Disorder called Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Symptoms of this personality disorder include "has a grandiose sense of self-importance, believes that he or she is special and unique, requires excessive admiration, has a sense of entitlement, and lacks empathy". If you are really concerned about this, I would suggest that you seek professional help. Good luck to ya! :)

It could be OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) If they have an obsession with keepign someone waiting for them...but it's an unusual case and you'd have to ask a doctor for a proper diagnosis

It sounds like they are either a control freak or very disorganized. I haven't heard of an illness based solely on making people wait, however.

I know people like that. It is not a sickness. It is rude and being inconsiderate of others. They think they are more important than anyone else.

Nah, some people are just selfish and rude. They think everything is about them, and they want everyone to know it, so this is just another way they can make sure everyone is focused on them.
