John 10: 13-15

. 14 I am the fine shepherd, and I know my sheep and my sheep know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I surrender my soul in behalf of the sheep.

Jesus refers to himself as a Shepherd and His followers sheep.

It's not anything negative. It's not to belittle his followers but to show his watchfulness & protection over us.In the time that the Bible was written, sheep and shepherding were ordinary concepts that people understood easily and fairly universally across ancient near eastern culture. In that time period, sheep were not regarded as dumb or stupid, but as highly valuable creatures who depended on the care of the shepherd for nurture and safety.

"There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all" (Ephesians 4:4-6).In the first century the church was simply composed of all who were saved by Jesus Christ through repentance and baptism, and it continued to grow as others were saved (Acts 2:38-47). Groups of these saved people met in various cities and each group was a church. Though united in Christ, they were independent of any human association or federation. As members of the Lord's church, we must then study carefully the New Testament's description of that church and the instructions given to it. This is found in the book of Acts and in the letters which follow it. Since the apostles were guided by the Holy Spirit, we can be sure that the churches under their instruction were exactly what Jesus wanted them to be. If we duplicate these early churches the Lord will be pleased with us.

The body of Christ, the bride of Christ, his temple.

As you can see Jesus is the Head of the Church, His body, It can only be one otherwise it would be a monster.
That's why the church is one, the other signs of the true Church is that it's holy, catholic and apostolic.

You are the last church. God does not reside in a building. You are God. He is experiencing life through you.

He will cleanse her until she is "without spot or wrinkle, or any such thing . . . holy and without blemish" (Eph. 5: 27), but he will never divorce her.
