My guy loves my homemade turkey sandwiches.....Take 2 slices of wheat bread and spread mayo on one piece & spicy brown mustard on the other. Lay sliced deli turkey on mayo side, then add a couple of slices of swiss or provalone cheese. Add fresh lettuce, sliced tomato, onion rings & a drizzle of olive oil ( very little bit of oil is needed) Place mustard side down on top & slice diagonal, then serve with chips, potato salad or your favorite side....Ymm

This is an award winning recipe.

Almond Turkey Salad Sandwich (or salad)
Preparation time: 20 minutes. This famous recipe makes approximately 8 servings if used as a sandwich or a salad.

Ingredients:
1 3/4 pounds turkey (or chicken)
1 1/2 cups thinly sliced celery
1/2 cup sun-dried cranberries (important)
1/2 cup toasted almonds

Ingredients for Dressing:
1/4 cup whipping cream, whipped softly
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon coarse black pepper

Instructions:
Chop turkey lightly in a food processor or chop half the meat with a knife and the other half in the food processor (don’t over do it or you’ll end up with a paste)
Fold in celery, cranberries and almonds
Whip cream and slowly blend in the mayonnaise and coarse black pepper
Toss the turkey mixture with the dressing using ONLY ENOUGH to moisten well
Correct seasoning adding salt and pepper if desired

That’s it.

To use the turkey salad recipe for sandwiches just combine two slices of bread (your choice), 2 lettuce leaves, 2 - 3 slices of tomato and a little mayonnaise if desired.

Option: If you do not have sun-dried cranberries, use canned pineapple, grapes or fresh chopped apples, although I believe the sun-dried cranberries really are BEST in this turkey salad recipe.

(Note: To use the almond turkey salad for a salad - Just scoop the portion size you want onto a little lettuce arranged neatly on a plate, garnish with a couple slices of tomato and serve with some bread.)

I heard alot of people like to put cranberry sauce on their turkey sandwich. I never tried that but it sounds good. there are many ways to make a good turkey sandwich from plain mayo and lettuce to cheese or more elaborate depending on taste preference. I like to use a whole grain type bread for my sandwiches. A good turkey sandwich that i have invented myself involved a whole grain bread. butter it lightly and top with turkey, than some mayo, alfalfa sprouts, avacado, sliced cucumber, and provolone cheese. It was healthy and so...good. You can also toast the bread slightly before making your sandwich. good luck

I read this in Food & Family magazine, so I can't take credit for it, but the recipe was originally roast beef, I decided to subsitute it with turkey. Anyway, you toast to slices of bread, pile 3 slices of turkey, 1 slice of cheese, and some dijon mustard on the bread. (if you have an indoor grill, you will need it) Then grill it on the grill, and it's good to go. May sound strange, but the mixture of melted cheese and dijon is sooo good. TRY IT!

Turkey salad sandwich - plain or toasted

Cut up leftover cooked turkey into small chunks

Put in bowl and add: chopped up celery, chopped up onion (not too much)

Add: Salt, pepper, mayonaise or "miracle whip" - just enough to make it all stick together

This is great because it is never dry - can do this with chicken and ham too !!

I'm a weirdo but here's my version.

Take your turkey and cut into long thin slices..
pile it on your bread about two to three deep. Soak a thin slice of bread in turkey gravy. put it in then stack more turkey on... then you last peice of bread. when im in the mood for somthing sweet i toast the outside slices of bread first and i smear on cranberry jelly then build the sandwhich the same way.

I would have 3 slices of turkey, two slices of cheese (your choice- cheddar or american works well), one piece of fresh, crisp lettuce, two thin slices of tomato, a dollop of sour cream or mayonnaise, and a kaiser roll will be the perfect combo. ;)

What I always do is this:

On rye bread w/mayo on one side and mustard on the other, turkey, yellow american cheese, and bologna.
