i bought some straightners abroad in the usa and they cost me 100 pound uk sterling.when i got home they never worked and the lady who i bought them off sed to send them back but she failed to send me the address.I have contacted the lady for the address to send them back but to no avail what shud i do please help me...

Electronic items bought in the USA (or anywhere else that doesn't use 230 volts) will not work in the U.K. There will be no warranty, either.

Your seller could not have known this - but you should have done...

Look on the rating plate on the handle somewhere, does it state '120 volts/ 240 volts/ or 120 - 240 volts??? If it's 120v then you will have blown them or the fuse if you fitted a uk plug to them??

Learn from experience - chalk it down to a learning curb.....
If it's any consolation, I wouldn't have known the difference between the voltages either (and I'm married to an electrical engineer - oops!)

How did you expect them to work?

States is 115VAC an UK is 230-240VAC.
You've probably blown them
