People say all kinds of crap... Christ is the author of a fictional novel called the bible... Saying that he's returning is the same as saying that J.R.R.Tolkien is returning... All hail the wood elves!!!

One thing that should be noted from the KJV at Mat 24:3
"And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?"
In reading this chapter, it talks about the signs of the last days and the second coming of Christ. Most every religion believes that these signs began with the advent of WWI, "wars and rumor of wars".
The problem with this is that if you buy a Greek Interlinear Translation of the News Testament, from any Bible book store, you will note that in ever other place the Greek word translated here as "COMING", really means presence. So, if this is the last days and the signs are being fulfilled, than Christ has already come and most Christian have missed it, just like the Jews of old.
OR, this is not the last days, and we are no where near the time of the end, as the signs are not being fulfilled.

It is not a fact that Christs return is near, its a belief.
I think it is unfortunate that we look at the destruction of our time, and see it as a good thing, because god is supposed to save us when that happens. The reality of it all, is when Christ does return, or at least what happens when he is supposed to return, is the equivalent of the world coming to an end.
That's quite morbid really, why do we dwell on this, when instead we should be trying to fix all that is wrong in the world, rather than wait for absolute destruction.

There's no traceable written proof such a character ever existed. It's well documented that the bible was written 50 to a hundred years after the fact. Stories become embellished when told by word of mouth down through years. There's just no way of knowing what really happened. Besides the bible has been redacted so many times what ever truth might have been there is long gone. No one rises from the dead.

The followers of Jesus were commanded to not look for the second coming - that the time and the place would be known only to God alone. Looking at this I find it silly for anyone to prophesize that Jesus is coming back.
Jesus also said that there would always be wars and rumors of war. That things would always be going wrong in the world. People have tried for ages to say that things have gotten so bad that Jesus has to come back. That's not how it works. Followers are not to look for signs, to try and guess if the number of wars currently on going is at the breaking point.
Followers are not to concern themselves with this topic and instead focus on their own lives.

i believe you are right. An unusual fact I think is the fact that we are loosing our creativity. I mean I have never seen such a dismal list of movies or television shows. The really good ones are mostly remakes of the old ones. Even songs are being remade like crazy because the new ones are for the most part crap. This is all besides the wars and rumors of wars and everything Biblical that is coming true at an alarming rate.

Don't take "the return of Jesus" literary, the return will be a spiritually one not a physical one. That return is slowly being realized by the awakening worldwide interest in Christianity the philosophy for living... not the original messenger in person.

The rapture could take place any time, today or 30 years from now. The second return of Jesus will be after the seven year tribulation.

Jesus' Apostles thought that they would see his return in their lifetime. And ever since people thought they saw the signs. Maybe we have to resign ourselves to the fact that it isn't going to happen. But it was suppose to mean the end of the world when it does. Should we be sad if it doesn't?

We are living in the last days, the Bible teaches us that Satan's attacks will intensify during these perilous times....Placing our faith in God's Word honors Him. Jesus is the Mighty Warrior, the captain of the host. He is our leader, and He is leading his people into victory. I do not believe that we have to live in fear in these last days. No matter how difficult life may seem, God has promised to provide for His own. He has assured us that we can live in victory if we keep our eyes on Him. Part of keeping our eyes on Him is keeping His ways and walking in His instructions. We will walk in victory if we do what the Lord says.
