I've heard that you need fort passes or something to get into the fort when you arrive for graduation. I haven't recieved anything in the mail and his family hasn't either. Are you supposed to get anything in the mail or is there a number you're supposed to call? Or do you get them when you get there? Also, is there anything else I need or should know before going?

You have to pick up a pass at the gate to Ft Sill
the day of the graduation. They do not mail passes to you.

To get on post, you will have to get a visitor's pass. Some installations will issue them at any gate, some will only issue them at one place. You will need a driver's license, proof of insurance, and your vehicle registration in order to get a pass. You will also have to show ID for everyone over age 16.

One thing I would be sure and do is get hotel reservations early. I don't know how big the town is around Ft Sill, but sometimes hotels can fill up fast for graduations or other ceremonies. When my husband graduated basic at Ft Knox, we had to stay one town over because the hotels were full.

You can get the pass at the gate. Make sure you have proof of car insurance and vehicle registration when you get there. Check out the Ft Sill website for more info: sill-www.army.mil
or call (580) 442-1262 for more info.

His family should receive information in the mail several weeks in advance, including one or two passes.
