If you are having these kind of doubts about what to say to a boy?
Don't worry about it. You will not have a relationship with this 'boy' that will lead to marriage.
Trust me, when I was a boy, and girls tried to call me, while it was flattering, as a boy, I was not even close to being concerned about the feelings of a young woman.
My best advice? Enjoy your youth, do not give it up until you are married, and stay away from drugs/alcohol and the people that use them.
You will bypass a lot of pain and suffering that most of the people I grew up with are still struggling with.

Even at this time, guys still like to do the calling. But, that's not the advice you asked for. You say hello, give your name, and ask about his day, how his favorite sports team did today, ask about his family or friends. The conversation will develop from there.
