Here is my story:

I have such huge swollen lymph nodes right under my jaw that I can't even open my jaw anymore. They dont hurt and aren't tender. My doctor said they are 4x their normal size. My symptoms are drowsiness, a fever even though Im not exactly sick, a drop in weight (just 2 or 3 pounds), slight loss in appetite, and sometimes the right lymph node itches. We did blood work and it seems to not be mono or an infection. I am getting a biopsy done on Tuesday, but I just want your opinion. What could it be? Are there other diseases other than cancer it prbly is?

I do not want to say U have cancer. I am not a doctor and I want to think positive! And U must be positive too! Yes I will admit that it is a sign of lymphoma, but that does not mean it is. Also have U been tested for hiv, also a symptom but again not the only reason. You see there R many reasons for lymph nodes to swell. I also have a friend that had swollen nodes in the same places and believe it or not, it was because she was pregnant and that was how her body reacted to the hormone change, I never heard of this until she went thru it. My other friend had this and it was cancer, but also turned out after chemo and further testing he had hiv. There is a test for aids/hiv called a A test and a B test, he knew he had contacted it working at the hospital from a person from another country, he had stuck his self by accident with her needle, well nobody would listen, finnally a Dr. tested for the B and it was there, I do not know all about this, except that it is a rarer form, seems to relate to other countries. Please make sure U have every test done, even if U have to demand it! I am going to pray for you, and I hope you will please email me, when U get your test results, please I will have this on my mind. You do not have to give me best answer, I did not respond for that reason, I really care, please email. I also have to ask you, have you cut yourself or anything that could have caused lock jaw, have U had a tetnus shot in the last 5 yrs. There R so many reasons for this. thats why I say and beg you, get every test done, even if U have to be very assertive, this is your body and life do not be intimadated by the doctors. Thank God my friend demanded and demanded further testing, he is doing really good now! Also ask lots of questions, our lymph nodes can be complex, it could be alot of things. I am with you in spirit! I know you are scared, I went thru 2 vocal cord surgeries and they were not cancerous! SEE WE R GOING TO BE POSITIVE!! Again I ask please email me, U do not have to tell me your medical issues if U do not want, but just let me hear from you. God Bless You. Chola

the lymph nodes just tells us that something is going on. not specifically what. they will probably run blood work again. mono doesn't always show up. infections are easy to spot...usually your white blood counts are high. as for what else it could be. i don't know your age or gender...i'm guessing you aren't pregnant. it could be an std, though. how long has this been going on?

You could be fighting some sort of an infection that the doctor has not identified yet. Don't panic (easy for me to say) and go on with the further tests and biopsies.

Sounds like a wisdom tooth, get an xray quick , it could be under your jawbone.
