you could have the kids fill little dixie cups with dirt, and let them plant a seed in them to take home.

We have an annual Spring Fling at my children's school, and the highlight is the rafftle baskets. Someone from each grade collects and organizes donations that revolve around a theme, such as Fun in the Sun, gift certificates, Toys for Boys, Gardening, etc. We make a lot of money selling raffle tickets for a dollar a pop. The baskets are on display before and after school at the entrance, and we get tons of business. We've had themes for our flings, including a Hawaiian theme, a cowboy theme, and a Cinco de Mayo theme. There's always food, games, and music, sometimes with a dj, sometimes with a live band. One year we had an ice cream social, which was pretty easy to provide for and it was a huge hit. Have fun and good luck!
