I think the person was implying that God made the angel, but the angel decided to become Satan (as that word is now used), and therefor made himself Satan. It's poor communication, and ignores the ultimate responsibility in everything of an omnipotent, omniscient creator, but it is not totally unintelligible.

I understand this person to mean something different than what you are saying it means. I see this as he is saying the devil made a choice to become evil therefore he created evil within himself. God did not create the choice or the evil satan chose to follow. Atleast that is what I got out of his answer...

Edit: I took you to mean this person is saying the devil "Created" himself. He was nothing and then created himself. Am I wrong?
Perhaps I assumed too much in your question............

well, God created angels and believe it or not, angels have free will awell. So this one angel, Lucifer wanted to be god, he envied God's power and turned against Him. So God bannished Lucifer from heaven and sent him to earth and all angels who folloed him. And this is how he became the Devil and they, his demons.

God created the Lucifer as an angel, but i guess u can say that he made himself into the devil through his own actions and desires.

How very Zoroastrian...

It reminds me of ideas and exchanges in Terry Gilliams' "Time Bandits"
A wonderful Supreme Being
(Ralph Richardson, God as an Englishman)
And David Warner as Evil...
(who insists he wasn't created!)

disagree - the devil was invented by religious and political hustlers to scare people into submission. It's well documented and yet people are still fooled to this day - it's a strange thing really.

i disagree.God made the Devil(made from fire)..he was an angel but then he refused to serve Adam coz he was made of Clay..God kicked him out of heaven and made him the source of evilness which is a way to test humans during their lives then God chooses whether they r goin to heaven or hell upon their deeds if they were good or bad

I think humans invented the concept of the devil.

No, the devil had been an angel but he fell because of his own pride.
