Depends upon the church and the church's policy regarding food and drink in the sanctuary. Many churches are okay with beverages and many are not. As a general rule however, it is considered to be disrespectful to eat or drink in a church sanctuary. A closed bottle of water is about the extent of what is considered appropriate in that situation, and mints, gum or hard candy/cough drops would also be okay, as long as you are not crunching, smacking, chewing loudly or opening noisy wrappers.

it all depends on your church...my dad's a pastor and over the years its changed...when i was younger it was a big no-no in my church and i guess was considered disrespectful...we were at the same church from the time i was born until i was 13...by the time i left people didn't care if you were finishing your coffee as the service was starting, but it was considered rude to be drinking it through the entire service...at the church we're at now people don't really care. There's always a few people drinking water (i do almost every sunday) and there's usually a couple people drinking coffee...is it a sin to drink coffee during church? i have to say i've never seen in the Bible that God tells us we shouldn't drink coffee in the church santuary.....i think it just depends on your congregation, you dont want to offend any of the older people in you church.

I hope not. I order pizza in during church service all of the time. That's why I have so many friends from church...everyone fights for a seat next to me.
Also, I think that the pizza deliverer appreciates the hefty tip I give him; it's my way of apologizing to him for earning him a nasty look from the pastor.

I'd drink alcohol in a church if I was forced to be there.
