I've been with my guy almost 3 years & we never go out on Valentine's Day. We always stay in & cook a special dinner together. This year we are having grilled thick cut Ribeyes, shrimp scampi, loaded baked potatos, grilled asparagus & homemade garlic bread......My guy mans the the grill & I take care of the sides......with plenty of hugs & kisses as we pass each other on the way to the fridge!!

I say find out his favourite meal of all time and just cook it.

I reckon the dessert should be as calorie fuelled as possible and not too sophisticated and a little messy. Strawberry's dipped in chocolate? Homemade truffles? Chocolate brownies and icecream.
Below is a very sinful dessert:

Mars bar tiramisu (or some other favourite chocolate bar):
Ingredients
4 digestive biscuits, broken up
100ml/3½fl oz juice from a jar or tin of cherries
100ml/3½fl oz double cream
50g/2oz mascarpone cheese
1 Mars bar, finely chopped
1 tsp icing sugar

Method
1. In a bowl, soak the digestives in the cherry juice for a few minutes.
2. Place a 12cm/5in chefs' ring on a plate. Add the digestive mixture and press down to make the base.
3. Place the double cream, mascarpone, Mars bar and icing sugar into a clean bowl and mix well.
4. Fill the chefs' ring with the Mars bar mixture, levelling off the top.
5. Carefully remove the chefs' ring and serve.

Well I just saw a cute idea to put on the table. Use red licorice strips and tie them in a knot effect around the napkin on the plate. I have also used red roses in milk glass vases before.

If you have a white napkin, red licorice, and a plate like a red one....or crystal type. Then use some goblets and red wine, baked potatoes in foil that you open up when you serve.

Menu: Baked Potatoes,
Silver Chicken
Green beans w Almonds
Rolls w butter

Fancy Dessert

Place chicken breasts in baking dish, cover with
sliced mushrooms, dots of butter, and rose' or cooking
wine, then cover tightly to bake until done.

Frozen Green Beans....cook as on package,
toss with melted butter and sliced almonds
before serving.(Takes about 20 min.)

Bake Potatoes in Foil in oven with Chicken
( allow about 45 min to 1 hr for both chicken
and green beans.

Heat rolls just before serving.

Open top of potatoes with a knife and curl back the foil
serve with slice of butter, and sour cream as desired.

This whole meal is easy and tastes great! Choose his
favorite dessert.
