There was no need to alter anything.
Language is very flexible, and over a few years can be twisted to any purpose. Look at the word "gay" for example.
It was just a matter of time before the all-knowing all-powerful translation committee made a version more suited to the means of the church.
Although prophecies belong to a much darker organization.
Remember the "Hister" references in Nostradamus and how that prophecy was used by Nazis to control France?
All prophecy has a moment of purpose that leaves as soon as the prophet tells his story. Then the editors step in.

Many? How about the old rule the burden of proof falls upon the accuser?
It is so easy to regurgitate some lame 'factoid' one has heard on the 'History Channel', but there is absolutely no proof to support these claims of corruption.
What is amazing, is that of all the super-powers of old, the only surviving manuscript that even suggests a continuous history, is the Bible. Without it, what would you have to cast your ignorant doubts upon?
Now let me ask you, why would you do such a horrible thing, as to eneducatedly repeat the speculation of a small number of researchers bent on dismissing prophecy as written after the fact, when truth be told, all they can offer as proof is mere speculation 2000 years after these things were written?
You my friend have made yourself the brother of these liars bent on undermining things of which they are as close to comprehending as the next human visit to pluto!

i think of she made an excellent mistake in appearing in this coach. Her overall performance became terrible and he or she did no longer even seem to aim to cover that she became lip-synching. considering that's evident she has gained lots of weight those days, she wouldn't have worn the form of revealing outfit. i don't understand if all and sundry else observed this yet i presumed she bore a extraordinary resemblance to the previous due Anna Nicole Smith. Britney is now at a element in her occupation the place she has to make some severe judgements. She has to desperate whether to vanish for a on an identical time as to remake her image or merely walk faraway from her occupation fullyyt. she will't proceed with what she became doing while she became 18 or 19 years old. it incredibly is not working now and in no way will returned.

Lol, when they found the Dead Sea Scrolls, they were excited BECAUSE it showed NOTHING was added or taken away! That's why they were important finds. It proved they had not changed over an almost 2,400 year period.
Other Books from the old testament had been discovered even further back showing they too are original up to around 5 to 6 hundred B.C. So, I'm sorry to say your question doesn't work.
PS I'm not even a christian. Just historian.

I don't think that is true. There have been alterations, due to translation errors, of which the most notorious surely must be the use of the English word "virgin" for the Greek word meaning "unmarried woman". Various different written versions of the "original" texts have survived; these differ, of course, so any translator attempting to do a decent job has to pick and choose.

When intelligent Christians using the Bible could point out errors in the teachings of the Jehovah's Witnesses, the JW's revised several sections of the Bible so that it would agree with what they taught.

I strongly disagree. I suspect you are an atheist. Bibles aren't printed on papyrus necessarily. But even if they were, what would be wrong with inserting prophetic statements? Huh?

You've got to be kidding... right? The bible is crap, it was re-written to suit whoever was in power at the time, the printing press was invented long after they stopped using papyrus, and there is no currency by that name.
Perhaps you'd like to rephrase your question?

The bible is accurate. The people who say otherwise are only unhappy about what it implies for thier lives.
