I would find it flattering. What woman doesn't want to feel desired? Most women would take it as a major compliment. I would only become offended if he approached me and was using offensive language or gestures. (I'm 31)

I used to take it as a compliment but now it's annoying. If a guy is interested talk to us as a person and not an object. I would much rather appreciate it and look forward to another day if he's sincere. If not then bye! 22

That happens to me still because I look really young. I take it as a compliment and politely make light of the situation by telling them that I am very flattered but I have a lot of "baggage" and am attached already. I am 31.

If I I was a little knowlegeable about him, and if he fascinated me, I would love the attention. He would have to have some special qualities that I already knew about. If I knew nothing about him and he seemed nice and was in a bookstore or a library I would also be flattered..IF I thought he was handsome and intelligent..I would ask him out for coffee.. age 40 something

It really depends on the guy who is hitting on me. If it is some creep who looks like he flirts with like every girl in the world, I would tell him to leave me alone. But if I am attracted to the guy, I would not mind. Also, if he was sweet about it I would like it. But like pick up lines and stuff never work, so I would get mad about that also. For example, if some guy was said something extremely cheesy like, "Do you know CPR? Cuz you take my breath away" I would seriously want to slap the guy. But if he said something funny like, "Can I borrow 25 cents? I want to call your mom and thank her" I would laugh and be nice about it. Usually the guy has to be sweet and not so suave about their wording. Oh, btw, I am 16.

Im 16, It depends. When a girl is with a group of friends and a guy randomly comes up to you with a 'stupid' excuse to talk to you, the girl gets inbarassed, and you dont want that. When a guy just comes up and says hey, and starts a convo. then its less embarassing, and you can usually get a number to text out of it. Caution: dont EVER come up to a girl and say a pick up line.... nine times out of ten you will be walking away feeling stupid...
Ps just say hey... its cute, and shows class. :-)

If it's a comment on the sweeter side, I just smile, say no, and walk away. If it's something incredibly sexist and degrading, I come up with a snippy comeback — or grab the guy by the ears and pull his face down to my knee. (OK, I've never done this, but I would.)

I'd think it was cute, and if he was, I'd say yes to a small outing, nothing extreme, just a picnic or something. Then I'd get to know him, and if I didn't like his personality, THEN the problem for me would be telling him off.

This kind of depends on ALOT of factors.
Like if she is single and/or if she is mature enough to hold a conversation and actually GIVE BACK something to the effort,
the majority of american females are not. which is why unless you are some TV star or an extremely good looking jerk, it hardly ever goes anywhere.
