i always scrunch my hair when i want a curly/wavy look. before bed, take a shower but use less conditioner than normal. then, get a mouse (i use garnier hard-curl), put a quarter-sized amount in your hands and scrunch hair. then blow dry while continuing the scrunching. it'll look sooo cute!
good luck,

Well what I do is take a shower and after I brush my hair,I braid it.So the next morning I take it out of my braid and put moose or something like that in it and scrunch it.So that is how I make wavy or curly hair.It works really good on my daughters too.

I take sections of my hair and coil it arond my finger and then I bobby pin the tight coils to my head. When I wake up in the morning, Iet out the coils, tousle my hair and head out!
It's easy quick and creates gorgeous waves.
