I left my job (manager of a small bussiness) on bad terms because my employer with held vital information from me when they hired me. When I found out and confronted them, I got a bad reaction. I was so upset that I walked out. I haven't spoken to them since December, and I do not ever wish to speak with them again. Now it's Feb. 10th, and I still haven't gotten my W-2 from them. I am afraid they might be holding it out of spite. Who should I contact and what can I do? HELP!

by Jan 31st you have not received your W2, call the employer and ask them if they have been sent. If by Feb 15th you have not received it, call the Internal Revenue Service at 1-800-829-1040 and file a W2 complaint. They wil take a report and send you a form that you can use as a subsitute, you will need your last paycheck stub when you call, along with the name, address and phone# of the employer and what dates you worked for them

Ideally you should contact your employer. Do whatever you can to make the exchange civil. If they do not co-operate, the IRS would love to know as there is a fine for not issuing W-2's on time - $50 per form.

In any case you can file a return from February 15th using a substitute W-2, which you reconstruct using paystubs. I do hope you have a final paystub showing year-to-date deductions.

Contact them anyway because by law they have a certain time to get them to you. If that fails use your last ck stub from them it contains info of taxes ect. that the form would have. if thst fails call your state gov.
