I go running all the time, my wife and I are set to get a Boston Terrier and I've started wondering whether the little guy can handle a 10 to 15 mile run. I'd feel bad going on a run without him, but I don't want to hurt him either. Any idea where I can find this out if you don't know? Am I worried about nothing here and totally underestimating the breeds ability?

Bostons are very active dogs and love exercise, but you have to remember that this is a very small dog. Also, they over-heat very easily because of their short muzzles. There's lots of other breeds who would love a 10 - 15 mile run, but I think that's too much for such a small dog. You could try talking to a few breeders, though, and find out what they think.

I would talk to a boston terrier breeder. I know sometimes boston terriers can have a luxating patella, which means their knee cap will sometimes pop out of place for a minute. If your dog had this problem, he would not be able to run with you. And other than that, they are pretty small dogs, and i also may be underestimating them, but i don't know if a small dog would be able to go on a 10-15 mile run. And they also have short snouts that sometimes cause breathing problems. So these would be questions for your vet, and the breeder might also know. If you find out that they can handle it, just be sure to get your puppy from a good breeder that does not use dogs who have luxating patellas for breeding purposes. You can also get your puppy checked by a vet before you buy it to make sure it is healthy. Good Luck!!

Dogs are like humans. THey cannot automatically run a certain distance. You would have to start him small and work him up, no differently than as if he was a human. I know someone who takes their dogs on 12 mile hikes and the dogs LOVE IT. Point being, treat them as human athletes, and bring water with you. In addition, keep an eye on them and stop if they appear at all fatigued, stop. Other wise I see no reason why not if the dog is willing.
