The fact that it bothers you is commendable, most people nowadays are not concerned about being a good samaritan, of course in some ways you can't blame some of them, some really care but are concerned about safety issues, it seems that the news and television is always showing someone with good intentions being hurt or killed as a result of their benevolence. Don't beat yourself up, and keep up the goodness, just be careful and don't place yourself in danger.

You're better off ignoring it and minding your own business.

My rule:

"NO GOOD DEED EVER GOES UNPUNISHED"

But if you insist, here are my reccomendations:

Chances are pretty good that this was a stolen vehicle being driven by a drug dealer who either didn't care or realize there was something seriously wrong with the truck. You're exposing yourself to way too much danger by attempting to help.

Your best bet is to try to get a license plate, vehicle description including make, model and color, direction of travel and number of occupants. Dial up 911 and hand it over to the police.

Oh, try and be accurate with the vehicle description as the license plate is probably stolen too. Keep your distance and don't make it obvious that you are attempting to follow the vehicle. Not worth getting shot.

Yes you should of warned the driver, you would've had peace of mind..and also you would feel good about yourself right now.
I would've warned the driver, but that me...living in the country its just a natural for me.
Don't worry, I'm someone will eventually tell the driver before its to late.
