Me and My husband, My husband who is active duty military dont have the money to get a commerical flight back home, so we were wondering if maybe we could take a Space A flight back to the states. A family member is dying and we need to go home , its not immediate family so we cant fly for free through the military. Also, i was wondering if i would be able to take a 8 week old puppy with me on that flight? With all her shots, micro chip, passport and health record??

The military will work with you, but you are asking to much.

Pet I have no idea,

You and your Husband, Space A means just that Space A, I don't know where you are coming from but you might not be able to get to the area where you are. Space A is though the military and so you would drive to the closest Airport that has Space A capablities and you would wait, and wait until you can get a flight, If you are flying from OCONUS to CONUS then make sure that you hubby is with you because otherwise they will let you fly once and then your there. CONUS to CONUS I don't know what the rules are but it might take you a week to get across the US. I seriously doubt they will let the dog. Your best bet, go into your ACS and get a emergency loan if it is that important. Tell them the situation and where you have to go and show them the reciepts on how much you need exactly, they wont give you more then you need. If you have taken a AER loan already they wont let you until a certain amount of time as passed. If you need to get to NC and there isn't a AF base nearby you are still going to have to pay airflight.
Good Luck.

If he can get emergency leave orders, your priority will be higher and you'll be more likely to get on the flight. It's charged as regular leave, but requires a command endorsement to verify the "emergency." Have him ask his supervisor if the orders can name you as traveling with him, so hopefully you can get the same priority. Active duty on emergency leave is the highest priority level, right below "official travel." Good Luck!

Sorry, I don't know about the dog.

Good luck with that. Charlotte is a very small airport, and you'll need to have a connection flight somewhere, probably in new york or DC.

possible, but probably unlikely. there are no guarentees flying Space A at all, and you could end up stuck somewehere, or running the risk of using up all your leave before actually arriving at your destination, and you'd be stuck paying out ofpocket to get back so you don't get considered UA.

pets are only allowed when PCSing.

As far as I know you should be able to. It helps if you have a Red Cross Message as well. Most likely not with the dog though, you may have to leave her with a friend.
