I was hit from behind by an uninsured motorist and I filed a claim on my own auto policy under the uninsured motorist coverage. I do not have an attorney at this point, and I don't know what to expect. My medical treatment is almost over and I will be ready to settle the claim soon.

You can expect your medical bills or a percentage, depending on your coverage and repair for your car. No pain or suffering. You have to go after the other driver for anything more. You'd better hurry, though...because your insurance company may (depending on your policy) have the power to settle with him on your behalf. They will be attempting to get back any damages that they pay out to you.

To clarify- the person above me had something wrong- you MAY be entitled to "pain and suffering" as uninsured motorist is treated just like your bodily injury would be if the other driver had insurance.

Now- you are mentioning no lifelong injuries. Im assuming you didnt lose an arm, leg, or break your back etc. It sounds like things are going to be just fine.. so technically they owe you no more then medical bills. (unless you have a permenancy rating from your dr- no additional money is owed) They will probably throw you an extra few hundred dollars though to close the class. Expect at the most 1k over your medical bills.

You have not told us enough about your injury and your treatment for us to give you a value. But don't expect some formula like 3x your medicals/wages.
