Are you on medication? It can be a side effect. Are you allergic? Get an allergy test? Do you have pets? You can become allergic after a long period, you can develop new allergies at any time. Does anything coincide? Did you move house? Have the carpets cleaned. Get a new car? Is there soemthing in it causing you to suffer. My Mum can't visit my house as something in our carpets, although we've had the cleaned and they weren't dirty to start with, makes her skin itch if she takes her shoes off and makes her sneeze. She's fine at her house. It must be my cheap carpet! he he he! Anyway, joking aside, see your doctor. Stress that it's been on and off for 3 years and make them consult their books. Try the link... Good luck and don't put up with it, get it sorted.

It could be an allergy....
also, since your questions point to the possiblity that you are in fact a builder and it is not just your screen name, maybe your trouble is work-related..
you may be closing your nose in order to avoid breathing in some dusts and odors, etc. and that would ruin your sense of taste since the nose and tongue and breath are interrelated. { If, for example, you must take some cough medicine and it tastes just terrible, just hold your breath as you swallow it and keep it that way a couple sec's or three, and you wont taste a thing ...}
I know it sounds strange, but once I could not stop sneezing.... so I finally asked myself what was wrong and I found out that I was furious at myself for having done something... and as soon
as that was settled, it stopped ......so, I am saying that with you, there could be something you are trying to tell yourself.... the cold can be that, too.
in any case, I would see a doctor ... they can give you things to calm your system down...
question: have you ever noticed if anything -- like a nice hot cup of coffee with real cream, or tea with cream and sugar, will stop the sneezing.... it may be you need 1: something hot or 2 :something with caffeine......(Personally I have found some Dubonnet Rouge is helpful when it is way out of line.... but, I am better now!) (yes, I forgot: Spanish Cafe con Leche can be like that, too.... dark Spanish roast with hot milk and some sugar.... good!)(and some musk melon,.... those yellow-orange ones...those are good)
Also, sometimes cough drops can get you through things... I lived on Menthol Eucalyptus for a year and a half, and then switched to Wild Cherry .... and now I find that Wintergreen Mints settle my stomach in the way that nothing else can, even those expensive little pills that cost $5 each!
Oh, yes: slow down and relax .. even if just for 20 minutes .... and be determined to have that time for YOURSELF!!!!!
peace & love

See a doc. I have heard zinc is important for smell/taste.... maybe try a multi-vitamin that includes zinc. BUT I am not a professional in this field!!!!

You probably have allergies. If your nose is runny/blocked then that will affect your smell and taste. Try taking Claratin or something similar. If that doesn't work, see your doc.
