Grace is the answer. Jesus has abundant grace, and you don't HAVE TO do anything to be saved, other than believe in Him. Take a load off. Jesus said His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
You don't have to do anything. Relax.

You are not saved by the things you do. You could never do anough to earn it! So chill. Your salvation is a freely given gift, from Christ to you, and you've already accepted it. No hoops required. You don't have to go to a church. It helps some people to have fellowship with other believers, but it isn't a requirement for salvation. It's best to read the Bible, and to pray, so that you will remain in touch with God, but it isn't like a high school homework assignment: so many pages per night, so many repetitions. When you pray, say what comes into your heart to say, no more and no less. And sometimes it's better to read only a page or two at a time of the Bible, so you can better reflect on what you do read. But, YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING! Isn't it wonderful? If the "Christians" in your life are causing you to have this feeling of weariness, then you might need to separate yourself from them.

When Jesus died on the cross, He finished the laws of the Jewish Scriptures, since no one could follow them all anyway. He instituted a New Covenant, or Testament which has no laws brought forward except 9 of the 10 commandments. ( The one about keeping the Sabbath was not brought over). Grace DOESN'T COVER all future sins, which is called "backsliding". So, you can't go off murdering and robbing banks and still go to heaven without repenting again, and going through confessing your sins, etc. After you become a Christian you are required to live like a Christian, not a sinner. Love everyone seems to be the great law now. I'm sure God doesn't care if you wear jewelry or not, if you know what I mean. Legalism means you are trying to earn your salvation by keeping impossible laws, which is not logical, as Jesus paid your price to God for your sins. You, therefore are not required to keep the man-made religious laws for salvation.

There is a story in the OT about a man who was "zealous" for God. He served God with not just his mind but his whole heart and soul. His name was Phinehas. God stopped a plague and blessed his grandchildren because of what he did. Numbers 25:11,13 and Ps. 106:30. I believe that is an example of balancing the Christian faith. We are to obey God not just in what we do and don't do....which could turn into legalism but with our whole heart and soul. Mark 12:33

you have already been pointed towards a loving God...you have found him. he forgave you of your sins, and has entered your life. I am not sure what you are asking, but it sounds like you are still looking for something. perhaps you need to grow more in your relationship with the lord. talk to your pastor about how you are feeling, and maybe he/she could give you some advice

The only way to get past this season of dryness is to fall in love with Jesus all over again...We have to humbly bow down and say, "Jesus--thanks for everything you did--I love you!"
Christianity isn't do this and don't do that's--it's a two-way love story between you and the lover of your soul--Jesus.
That's when you'll WANT to be immersed in His Word.

Christianity is basically 'your relationship with Jesus'. Gods gift of grace is given to us free. we dont have to jump hoops etc. i know we still have a certain whatever to uphold but as long as you talk with him everyday and dont shut him out all will be good. I personally dont believe we have to go to all lengths to prove to whoever that we are good christian soilders. Brownie points and merit points wont get us into to heaven. Our own personal belief and relationship with god will. his gift is free. he understands that you dont feel like reading your bible. just talk to him about it. he isnt this great cranky man who will condem you for not wanting to read your bible. he understands us and how we feel. Just talk to him.

Make sure you take time for your family, then try to help people that really need help. Prayer and Bible study is good, but other things need to be done also. It's not about what you have to do, but what you want to do.

God Bless you -
Here is part of Romans 12 - from The Message
So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life-your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life--and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him. Don't become so well adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognise what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
Im speaking to you out of deep gratitude for all that God has give me, and especially as I have responsiblities in relation to you. Living then, as every one of you does, in pure grace, it's important that you not misinterpret yourselves as people who are bringing this goodness to God. No. God brings it all to you. The only way to accurately understand ourselves is by what God is and by what He does for us, not by what we are and what we do for Him.
The key in this passage is living in pure grace. When we do this, nothing seems a chore. We can be as busy for God, but without His grace on our lives as we seek to live out our lives for Him, we are no different to 'do gooders'. Ask God for more grace, and a fresh revelation of His love for you.
I was wondering if you had experienced the filling of God's Spirit. We need this daily in order to live our lives. All we need to do is to ask. Ask the Lord to refresh your spirit.
This life you have received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It's adventurously expectant, greeting God with a child-like "What's next, Papa?" God's Spirit touches our spirit and confirms who we really are. We know who He is, and we know who we are: Father and children.
