Ok, I'm a junior in high-school and he is a senior. We're on ski-team together and practice together a lot. We talk all the time and he's perfectly nice. we could be friends. But... he likes me. And worse, he knows that I know that he likes me. I'd like to be friends with him, and there aren't a lot of other people on the team that I talk to. Plus, it's kind of nice to have somebody 'like' me that way. But I'm afraid that I'm giving him the wrong ideas. Is thre any way I can let him know how I feel without ruining any friendship?

You sound like you have some really good intentions but you need to know a few things:

No matter what anyone says it is very difficult for guys to just be friends when it comes to close friendships. I have heard a ton of stories where the guy told the girl ( and even himself) that it was only about friendship but it was about more. Pretty much all guy friendships are based on hanging out with someone who shares a common interest.(Sports, video games, ...etc...)They don't usually hang out with someone just to have a friend or someone to talk to.

There are a ton of stories of girls who were lonely and wanted a friend so they clinged to guys who were in it just because they wanted the girl. It happens everyday. It ends up hurting the guy, the girl, and can cause problems if you start dating someone. I have seen it a lot. I don't have a problem with my girl having guy friends. I have several girls who I love to hang out with but our relationship is limited to group acitivities. I can't see me really enjoying hanging with them one on one much. Actually, the times that I did pursue the one on one times it was for different reasons. If two people have a friendship where they are both lying about the intentions then there is disaster looming. I heard some guy say this and it is very true:

What do you call a girl that is a friend? Future girlfriend.

be honest with him, don't be a wimp and do things to him for the sake of being nice, if so you're just giving him the wrong impressions and you'll end up getting him mad, tell him that you're not interested in anyone, and that you're not looking for a boyfriend or whatever... You might ruin something, but you could also stop his emotions before they get too intense... think about it

just tell him how u feel...its really the only way to do it...if u dont tell him he might think that since u havent told him that u dont like him (since he knows that u know that he likes) that ur just waitin for him to make a move...if telling him ends up ruining ur friendship...then he wasnt that good of a friend neways.

You should tell him that you don't want to have that kind of relationship, and you two just want to be friends.
Get his cell number and text him, and just let him know that you don't want to be that girl with him, he probibly just has a puppy love crush.
