put a lot of conditioner on it rinse out then let it dry naturally.
Combing wet hair stretches it, and in your case if it has tangles, is pulling it out.

My hair is about 18" long and I figure I loose about 15 a day on the comb and a few more in the shower. I should also mention that I am a guy with baldness running in the family. But at 26, I still have a lot of hair.,

Compare the length of the hair that is coming out with the length of the hair on your head. If it's shorter, chances are that your hair is brittle and needs extra moisture, so it's breaking. Also, shampooing and conditioning can dislodge loose hairs from the scalp. "shedding" is a natural process that allows the hair follicle to rest, and it can be accelerated by changes in diet and, particularly, stress (I have this problem myself). Over the next few days, count how many full strands are coming out each day--if it's more than about 75 every day for a few weeks, you may have a hair loss problem, which can be temporary or permanent.
If you're really worried about it, go to your salonist and talk to her about your problem. I did, and I found out that it was the stress of going to college. Chances are that you'll have some new growth coming in at the top of your head to replace the lost hair.

We lose up to 100 hairs a day normally. If your hair is long this is going to look like a lot.
Also, is it coming out by the roots (the length of your hair) or shorter (it's breaking off)?

Have you dyed your hair a lot? That could be the cause. If so use a conditioner with Wheat Protein to strengthen it, start at the ends and work your way up to comb it. If you don't dye your hair see a doctor. You could have something wrong with you thyroid or another condition (hormonal?) that is causing this. Good luck!

It really depends. Do you dye your hair or use heat-based stylers (curling irons, flat iron, etc) often? Also, make sure you're using the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair, and not using too much harmful product (sprays, gels, etc.). A healthy diet is also good, as a lot of people losetheir hair if they become malnourished (anorexia and others). Hope this helps a bit...

Brush and comb your hair BEFORE YOU WASH IT!!!
comb hair with conditioner in it in the shower!!!
see a doctor if this persists.
but honestly you lose 100 hairs a day from your head.
do you wash your hair everyday?
when i don't and wait 3 days, i have more hairs that are loose.

Water loosens the roots of your hair so it will be pulled out when you comb it.. best bet is to let your hair dry first

i bet you have thick hair...am i right? if you do, that would be the reason. my hair does the same thing, and i hate it! unfortunately though i don't think there is anything to do for it...because it's natural. as long as your not seeing any bald spots, i wouldn't worry about it. another reason for that happening is stress...could you be stressed? you may want to try taking some vitamin E, or a multi vitamin for women. they could help

You can get a blob of conditioner and run it through your hair. I know it's going to hurt, but remember, no pain no game! It works as well are detangle spray.
