I ask because i have worked in catering for many years. Plus raising fussy eaters etc.
My partner loves to cook and is far more adventurous with herbs, spices: but it works.
He says he enjoys cooking. After all these years i find it a chore.
Am i lucky or are there more men who enjoy cooking?

He cleans up afterwards as well. No mess left at all. Starting to think I'm very lucky!

My husband is exactly the same. I look in the cupboard and think nothing, he looks and hey presto four course meal! Whats all that about? The only down side is he seems to use every dish in the kitchen and I feel obliged to clean up. But I think thats a small price to pay as we ve got a dishwasher so not too much trouble. I reakon we re a pair of lucky girls, dont you? Happy eating.

I can totally relate!! my husband loves cooking and he is better than me, he is a natural. I dont love it any more either. i grew up without my mother around, just my dad and brother so i was often cooking for the family since my mid teens. The novelty wore of years ago. Occassionally i can enjoy it but mostly its a chore. But my husband is good and thinks out the box,. he will rustle something up from the top of his head and it will taste outstanding.

he is a rare find, especially since he was born in Nigeria where many men assume cooking is a woman's job.

However he does seem to use ALL the pots when cooking... grrrr! Sometimes i prefer to cook just so i dont end up with 15 pots to wash afterwards

I would be touched and fall into tears; if we weren't married yet at the time, I'd ask him to do so, then!! But seriously, my boyfriend is an amazing cook. He learned this skill because he was raised by a wonderful mother; in college, he learned out of survival and later on, dated a much older woman who was a gourmet cook. I reap the benefits of all these. He's actually done this for me--he went to the store, bought the ingredients and presented me with a beautiful bouquet and cooked dinner. I thought to myself, "I am the luckiest girl in the world. How can I top what he's doing for me to please HIM, later on tonight?" I didn't think he had an ulterior motive, at all. Later that night, I gave him a long and relaxing bath with all my Borghese Spa products. Even gave him a "male manicure" and did his feet. Sounds girly, but he works very hard and needed a little relaxation. He LOVED it! He felt pampered. I shampooed him with a long scalp massage, wrapped him up and gave him an hour long back and body massage. Then I let him sleep. When he woke up, he was completely relaxed and recharged. In our relationship it's give and take. If any woman received such a nice gesture from her man, she should enjoy it, not look a gift horse in the mouth and plan to reward him for his efforts!

You are lucky but I do enjoy cooking also. It gets expensive to eat out all the time and I get bored of the same old pasta and chicken at home so I mix it up a few times a week. Lately my thing has been corn meal pizza and home made sushi a couple times a week.

My other half is a wonderful cook, and the thing is he says he can't cook, but if you just leave him to get on with things he come up with the most wonderful creations known to man. The thing is though he moans and groans about having to do the cooking secretly I know that he enjoys it.

My man loves cooking too but is not much of an experimenter. He does however love a good recipe from a cookbook to follow (I strongly recommend Ainsley Harriot's Gourmet Express (book 1).
