I have shoulder length layered hair. It always gets tangled and looks messy and stringy. Besides keeping it healthy and using hairspray, any suggestions?

I use biolage shampoo and condition and deep conditioner. My hair is healthy. I just want to know how to keep it looking nice after I fix it.

forget about buying your shampoo in the supermarket...all those pantene, garnier etc are cheap products that basically smell good but do nothing else...get a good shampoo like L'Oreal (but get it at a hairdresser's or at a store where they sell products for hairdressers...even L'Oreal and other good brands have cheap supermarket versions of their products)...and never use two in ones, get separate shampoo and conditioner...Italian products are the best...if you can get your hands on Plura, Davines or Alfa Parf they are the best

I use biolage detangling solution. I have long hair. I really like it. It is the rinse out formula. I wash my hair and let it air dry. When it is wet I comb it out with a wide toothed comb. After it dries I brush it and I am good to go. It really does not tangel. Perhaps you should not use a hairspray they tend to build up in the hair and make it look oily before its time. Use a clarifying shampoo to get rid of oil. I use a clarifier every other day. It really helps. I also only add the detangling conditioner on the length of hair that is not touching my scalp. I pay special attention to the ends and start back up. the length of the hair and then stop at the point where it reaches my scalp.

hairspray won't make it be untangled because if you put hairspray and then touch it the spray will make it get tangled because it won't be soft and able to move. Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner such as biolage and a leave in moisturizing treatment or mask. Also, brush it often and try not to use heat styling every day.

Dont use hairspray and get a different shampoo Pantene, Paul Mitchel, and Garnier work the best (two in one) If you have a straightener dont get one tiny piece of hair at onse get the amount of the iron's length because then your hair will straighten together

i had the same prob. i recommend Loreal Vive and Pantene Age Renewal conditioners. use the Pantene first (follow directions on back of bottle) and the Loreal second (massage in and leave in for about 2 minutes, then rinse). after washing and rinsing, comb through and wrap in a towel until hair is slightly damp. after that, blow dry on high-heat to relax hair.
good luck! -

It was said on the "Look A Like" tv show that is you have virgin hair (which means: hair that has never been colored) it is hard to fix and it is too healthy looking.
Try some lowlights or some very soft highlights to give it that extra pump.
Good luck!

Check out a conditioner called Creamsilk. It is common in asian countries. That's pretty much why you always see long black straight and shiny hair all throughout asia. My wife uses it. You have to go to you local asian food market to find it.
