i have bought an house in greece. the guy doing the renovating just installed white marble which he knew i hated. if i cannot get him to remove it, is it possible to stain it green like styros marble or pink like that of Levadia? permanent stain not paint which will rub off and scratch off with wear and tear. is it a porous stone?

NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Obviously I am emotional on the subject.
Fire the contractor and get one that will do what you say. Take out the marble and sell it to someone who likes white (also obvious I am from a place where marble is rare)
Yes marble is porous and it can be dyed, but I would ask the new contractor about what type of dye to use - I only know about dyeing wood (which uses aniline dye, not sure if it would be even on marble)

you really need to have that contractor take it out.

marble is very porous, but it will look AWFUL if you stain it!

have you ever seen dyed carpet? terrible!

remove it or live with it.

then fire the idiot that put it in against your wishes!
