I LOVE mochi ice cream! At Costco, they sell the Mikawaya brand. It's a box that comes with one tray each of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. It is so much cheaper than buying them individually in the store. I love chocolate and the Kona coffee but...
Nothing beats Bubbie's! It's a local ice cream store here on Oahu. Their mochi is ice cream is so good, Oprah featured it on her O list in June 2006. They are a bit larger than the Mikawaya brand and are a little more expensive, but worth every penny. My favorites would have to be the Chocolate/Espresso, Tiramisu, and Strawberry.
Available on the mainland at fine stores such as Dean & Deluca, Draeggers Supermarkets, and Delmonico's Fine Foods.

Trader Joe's, H Mart, and Mollie Stone's sell mochi ice cream in flavors of chocolate, mango, green tea, vanilla, and strawberry. It is popular in California , Hawaii, and Portland, Oregon. None of these stores are in Texas, YET. There are two H Marts being built now. Carrollton 2625 Old Denton Rd. #308 Carrollton, TX 75007 Houston 1302 Blalock Rd. Houston, TX 77055 Try Central Market. They have it SOMETIMES. Appears to be a seasonal thing. I actually saw it there close to Christmas, I believe. Locations: Austin - Central, 4001 North Lamar, Austin TX Austin - Westgate, 4477 South Lamar, Austin TX Dallas, 5750 E. Lovers Lane, Dallas, TX Fort Worth, 4651 West Freeway, Fort Worth, TX Houston, 3815 Westheimer, Houston, TX Plano, 320 Coit Road, Plano, TX San Antonio, 4821 Broadway, San Antonio, TX Southlake, 1425 E. Southlake Boulevard, Southlake, TX Also try the Asian markets around Dallas, Garland, Richardson, and Plano Texas. I know I've seen it there too, but could not tell you which store. I think the mochi was called Bubbies, sold by the pint for like $15 a pint or something outragous like that. Good luck!

I dont know the brand, it comes in a really plain box that just says mochi on it. And its green tea, yummmmmm
