Nope, not really. It could be a joke or could just be artwork they like. And even if it DOES represent a belief or view, that really doesn't concern me... what concerns me is if they answered the question in a thorough, civil and accurate way.

No, I wouldn't. The person would just be doing it to try to shock and an inverted cross isn't that shocking to those in the know. An inverted cross is a symbol of St. Peter since he was crucified upside down. A few months ago someone had an inverted cross as an avatar and I pointed out that little fact to them. The avatar got changed because I'm guessing the person picked it to try to offend and it didn't work.

I don't usually notice the avatars.
But why would an inverted cross influence my opinion?
Catholic traditions holds that St. Peter was crucified upside down, at his request
The Church of St. Peter (Catholic) in Richfield, MN has an inverted cross in their logo.

Wouldn't a thumbs down be a (inverted) sign of agreement for them?

No.
The inverted cross is a symbol of St. Peter. It has only been considered 'anti-Christian' since Jack Chick started producing his comic book series.

I don't care what their avatar looks like. I answer or rate the Q or A based on what I think of the Q or A.

Not at all. The only avatar that'd make me give someone a thumps down is those pornographic ones that look like they come from Hustler magazine.

I would give that person a thumbs up. I don't understand why people worship a cross. Jesus died on, and that is it.
PS: Your grammar is a little off; "their" does not belong with "person."

St Peter was crucified up-side down. Why would I give it a thumbs down?

No, it's called freedom of religion, that includes freedom of no religion.
If you choose to invert the cross, then invert it. Who cares?!
