It's likely. I know lots of atheists.

And it's lining up with the prophecies in Revelations.

I dont think its 70% europeans, sounds too much... But lots of europeans compared to USA. The UK is meant to be about 60/70% religious and 40/30% atheist I think.

Europe is largely secular and Christians are very liberal and nothing like American evangelicals. Americans would be surprised at how much of a non issue Christianity is in the UK, that's why I find the beliefs of conservative Christians so difficult to accept-they're something I've never encountered before or even knew existed to any great degree.

Eastern Europeans are not religious. And while most Americans claim a religion, a good many are not practicing. Church attendance is on the downward trend in the US.

That's not true about Europe, most Europeans just don't believe in Religion, while only in some Countries(Sweden,France,..) the majority is actually agnostic or atheistic.
Europeans also don't worship Oprah.

70% of Europeans atheist? Really? That sounds like a high number to me. Anyway if atheism is growing that shows that people as a whole are getting smarter and less apt to let stupid superstition rule them.

Yup. America is actually following the Middle East pattern of religious development.

This terrifies me.

Is it ignorance or apathy?
Don't know, don't care. To each their own. What does your history professor say about the rise of Islam in Europe?

I'm an atheist and I didn't know we were in a contest.

I'm perfectly fine with people believing in whatever brings them comfort.

You are probably right; people are simply getting smarter. Power to the atheists. You are our Messiahs for the future.
