It is the way with any weekend warrior athletic pursuit. If you perform some sport once in a while, you will feel muscle pain in areas that have not seen that level of stress in a while. If you spoke to a ski instructor that is on the slopes 5+ days a week, they likely would not complain of muscle fatigue after a day's work.

The other factor is the day pass vs. season pass. The day pass skier wants to get as much value out of their expensive pass - so push hard to do as many runs as possible. The season pass holder will usually live close to the resort, and have many opportunities to ski - therefore would tend to ski half and three-quarter days - not feeling the need to ski themselves into the snow each visit.

Quite simply, skiing exercises muscles that you normally don't use.

This results in soreness and pain. Take a hot bath, use a massage mat or chair, apply heat packs, stretch, etc. These things help.

Read up on ski specific exercises you can do when you are not skiing. This helps a little with reducing that pain.

My first day skiing every year is usually a short one, just a few hours, to help my body re-accustom itself with the "skiing muscles".

You need to work out in the gym. Do a total body weight workout at leat once a week - better twice or three times. You will feel much better and never have muscle pain again no matter what you do!!!

Well, it will be painful the first couple of weeks after you start, but that's just once and never more!

Thought I would answer your question to me in my other post, I believe you were trying to either say that E-Tard was not a word and that I was retarded, or you were trying to ask if E-Tard was refering to retarded, either way you were not very clear with what you wanted so I will answer as best I can. E-Tard is a word to describe someone that uses E, a drug known to give sensory pleasures and that is sometimes deadly. The term is coined to be that people that take E are "retarded" in their thinking if they truely believe that E is a great thing. Next time know what you are either asking, or replying to, or trying to convey so that someone can give you clear answers right away w/o them having to fumble through your post.
