im trying to get a tattoo, so im just making sure i have the exact right translation

yours was correct =) just remember the capatilisation 'Sie' and the two dots above 'für'

Hey! I`m from Belgium, just next Germany. We also speak German in Belgium and we could just say: "Leben Sie für heute!!!" Written with the two dots on the "für"!

I do think that another adequate German translation would be:
"Leb' für den heutigen Tag" or "Lebe im Heute"

I'm a translator, and German is my native language.

wrong, wrong, wrong...if it's a tattoo, it needs to be a real (in-your-face-) STATEMENT!

"Leb' fuer das Heute!" (get the Umlaut, of course)

or

"Fuer heute leben!" (get the Umlaut, of course)

I think the BEST translation would be:

"Leb in der Gegenwart!" (live in the present)
