Use an ionic flat iron. It will not curl back easly.
Solia makes a Tourmaline Ceramic Ionic Flat Iron.
According to the Solia flat iron website, "tourmaline,
a precious stone, is used to generate up to 6 times more
negative ions than traditional ceramic irons".

I recommend going to your nearest salon and asking someone there; they have more experience and can also tell you what sorts of conditioning and protecting solutions you sould use, since the heat of straightening your hair can make it dry, brittle, and weak.

If you already have all that, I recommend getting a Chi brand straightener, or at least get one with ceramic or tourmaline plates--those heat more evenly and are better for your hair.

Remington Wet2Straight. I love it, and it's only about $30 at Wal-Mart or Target. I have friends who've paid over $100 for their straighteners, and mine often seems like it works better!
