Yes, because. It depends what you are running away from. If you are running away from a relationship it is not a crime. If you are running from the cops it is a crime.

Here in Canada running away from home is not a crime unless you are on probation/bail order that says you have a curfew of some sort. The police will bring you back home if you are under 16 years of age though as you may be considered a "child in need of protection".

Depends on why you are running away and what you do when told to stop by the police. If you are ordered to stop it is no longer running away, but resisting that you are guilty of.

Edit - My bad. Did you mean running away from home? And no having your child run away is not parental neglect unless there are other factors involved. What are you supposed to do as a parent, lock the kids up all the time.

You are a minor and have to be under the control of your parents. Running away solves nothing and causes bigger problems. Do you want to sleep on the street, eat out of garbage cans, turn tricks for a pimp who gives you drugs, or get killed? That's what's waiting for runaways.
