This can not and should not be answered by anyone here on Y!A. We are not doctors and this is serious enough to warrant medical attention.

This may sound funny...but I'm a male that had a similar problem. About 3 months ago, I started to notice a lump pretty much right under my left nipple. It was VERY sore to the touch and like you, I was afraid it may be something very serious.

At the appointment with my primary care physician, she ordered an ultrasound of my left breast. I made the appointment and went to have it done. When the radiologist came in, she assured me she thought it was nothing but Gynocomastia, an issue where tissues start to enlarge under/right around the nipple area. This can be caused by certain medications and it has been reported as a side effect of smoking marijuana.

Once I realized what was causing the lump to continue to "swell" (MJ), I stopped smoking for a while and sure enough the lump has started to decrease in size and the pain has decreased as well.

I think you should go to your family doctor and have it checked out. The only sure way to know what the lump may be is to have either an ultrasound or a mammogram of the affected breast.

GOOD Luck!

Pregnancy maybe..or your hormones. I had the exact same thing happen. After a month it went away. I would say you should go to the doctor and have a breast ultrasound done. Just to rule out any possibilities. But other than that I would say it is your hormones.

I had something similar to this a few weeks ago. I was really scared but turned out to be hormonal and has since gone away.
But, I did go see my doctor and followed through with a mammogram. You need to do the same.

Don't panic! It could very well be fiber cystic breast where the glads swell just before your period. I have a tendency to swell there also just before mine.
Make an appointment with your Doctor and she/he will examine you and ease your mind. Just don't let it go! You will be fine. Best wishes
