I've lived in both L.A. and Cincy. Without a doubt, Cincy is cheaper and you can get just as good of an education. Don't waste your money on housing in L.A.- it's not worth it.

It is definitely cheaper in Cincinattii than LA. Only a handful of other cities are more expensive (sorry Wally). Yes, it's smoggy in the summer, but so is Cincy. And LA is much better than it was in the 70's, due to clean air restrictions. What you DO have in LA is the nice weather nearly year round. There are VERY mild winters here. And you also have the beach nearby. There's nothing like a fun day at the beach, which is one of the reason's LA fans aren't rabid about their sports teams like other cities. That sunshine promotes a certain laid-back attitude. And if your team stinks, it's no problem, because there's 100 other things to do here on any given day, including the BEACH! Yes, it's more expensive, but worth it.

Much cheaper to live in Cinncinati. Go to school there and then take one of your college buddies and move to LA when you graduate. LA is more fun when you have someone to help you pay rent. The housing costs alone in LA will burden you with huge loans and you don't want to start out in too much debt.

There is an article in today's paper saying we in LA are in the top five for the cost or rent and we are second only to New York in how low our vacancy rate is.
Insurance for a car is through the roof.
I hope you can take the traffic.
If I didn't have a job here I would think about moving.
All you have to worry about in Cincinnati is the cold. All else will be o.k.

It is cheaper to anywhere whether in college or not than in L.A. The cost of living in L.A. is atrocious and the state tax is 8.25 per cent as opposed 7.75 per cent for the rest of the state. The smog is so bad you might as well smoke as not, because it is so hard to breathe there. There must be better colleges some where else where the air is clearer and it isn't so costly?

Definitely! Unless you're living in NYC, anywhere is cheaper than LA! It's worth it though, I think. I go to college down here and I absolutely love it! So much to do, see, and experience.

look on rent.com to get a clue of how much it costs - I had to move to San Diego (40 min from LA) and it cost me $950/mo to live in a 500 sq foot apt. upstairs w/no yard. and that's not including utilities!

anywhere outside of ca, other than nyc, are much cheaper. i've lived in la for way too long, and, while it has a lot to do, it's way overrated. i think the cons in la (rude people, bad transportation, bad traffic, pollution, crime, too many mexicans) outweigh the pros (nightlife, lots of things going on, diversity, weather)

residing on campus became plenty extra decrease priced for me, however the existence became no longer very stable. the only extra decrease priced housing on campus became interior the dorm the place you had no privateness and shared a bathing room with 20 different persons. i actual relish the range that I actual have in my condominium. this is worhth the extra cost to stay faraway from the campus regulations.

I would imagine. I've heard that LA is one of the most expensive cities.
