what's with the peeing questions? Talk to a Dr

I don't know how old you are, but my 8-year-old daughter occasionally has this problem. She has a problem with her kidneys. She had surgery to fix the problem, but still, she can't hold it very long when the urge to go to the bathroom hits her. I make her go to the bathroom every couple of hours, whether she feels the urge or not, and I make her go right before bed. Go to the bathroom right before you leave for school. Every time there is a recess or other break, go to the bathroom, even if you don't feel the urge. There is always something that will come out. If it helps, ask your parent(s) to write a note or contact your school, telling them or your teacher that you need to be allowed bathroom breaks each and every time you have to go to the bathroom. As long as you really do have to go to the bathroom and aren't trying to get out of class, your teacher should allow you to go when you ask to go. If your school or teacher doesn't allow you to go when you need to go, then your parents should talk to them and insist that you be allowed to go. If that doesn't work, then they can go to the school district and complain. Schools want kids to succeed and don't want to see kids being embarrassed like you have been. Try these things and see if they help. I wish you all the best. Hang in there. One more thing: you might want to tuck a spare pair of underwear in your backpack that you could carefully sneak in your pocket or something if you've had an accident. Or, you can wear panty liners. Panty liners can be found in the women's section of a grocery store, and are thin little pads that stick to the inside of your underwear. If something leaks out unexpectedly, at least it will help your underwear not to get so wet. People cannot see these liners through your clothes, and it might help. Good luck!

I disagree with the answers that say you should talk to the teacher about it. Instead, I would encourage her to have more confidence to speak up when she needs to. Take her out places and make her talk to people. For example, when you go out to eat, make her order her own food. Have her help you pay the cashier at the store. You can role play things like this with her at home where she is comforable, and the practice in public. There is nothing wrong with being shy, but she is beyond she if she would rather wet herself than ask to use the restroom. You need to work with her to help her be more confident.

my daughter has a bladder problem that she has to take medication for to help her with her bladder problems. What happens is when she has to go to the bathroom she can't hold it in because when the urge hits her it's too late and she can't hold it.

You could be having a medical condition that you need to talk with your doctor over, and/or you could just be being too lazy to go to the bathroom when the urge hits.

Try not to hold your bladder for too long. Accidents happen if you wait till the last minute. If you start to feel a little sensation, then go- don't wait.

You need to see a urologist and there are medications you can take. This is more common than most will think and can be treated. I would talk to your doctor about it and see if you could have a referral to a Urologist.

Maybe you should ask your parents to take you to the doctor.
But until then, go before every class. That should help.
Try not to drink too much. Good luck

Go to the doctor. I had a friend who had problems controlling her bladder and she had to have surgery for it. But now she's better!
