It is very important that you find out what laws are in your state. A person who can help you with this would be an employee or propietor at the nearest shop and range. They would probably be able to advise you of your state laws for transporting. It is imortant to know the law because they go by the "ignorance of the law is no excuse" adage. Call the local gun shop.

I don't have enough information to answer your question. Is the place you are staying in in the state where you live? Do you have a concealed carry permit? What state do you live in?

However, take a look at the following web site to find general laws for each state and links to the state's offical web sites with infromation about carrying weapons in those states.

Good luck.

Each state has different laws about transporting firearms. All states allow firearms, but each has different laws about carrying...loaded or unloaded, and where in the vehicle they may be kept when travelling.

Here is a great website on concealed carry.
