What I mean to say is how does al make sense in the above sentence. "to the seventh floor" this is in regard to making a hotel reservation. Is it trying to ask, I want a room at the seventh floor. Could you not put is it posssible to have a room... Thanks a lot!

You should say
"(Mi) scusi, è possibile avere una camera al settimo piano ?"

I wouldn't say "Senta,......." that's in English "Listen".
(Mi) scusi translates exactly yr "excuse me"
