I got our puppy a "Big Mean Kitty" toy from Target. These things are indestructible and he loves it. They have a complete line of such toys by other interesting names. At six months we were giving him pedigree dentabones, pig ears, and rawhide chews. Some people will disagree with me and say these items are not good for a dog but we are talking about an animal that licks his butt and will eat cat poop for an appetizer. The important thing is keep its size proportional to the size of the dog to allow full intended interaction. And I agree with Cole I have heard great things about the Kong chew toy.
Edit: In the beginning a pig ear took him 2 days to devour. Now it takes him about an hour and a half. A stuffed hoof is a favorite of his and takes him two days to get the stuffing out and will take about a month to devour the entire hoof. They stink though. Stink like nothing you have ever smelled before. The first dentabone lasted a day. Now he eats one in 5 minutes. Basted rawhide sticks the ones about the size of a pencil seem to last a long time too.

Put something in the kong - try peanut butter mixed with his dry food. This will keep him busy for awhile. I have a 4 month old great dane that weighs 70 lbs - so you are speaking my language. She also loves balls that are plastic and squeak. Rawhides are a hit also. Tennis balls with an inch or two slit in them with peanut butter/kibble stuffed inside is a winner also. Good luck

A Kong Toy it a red cone that you can put peanut butter inside there very cool... make sure you get the peanut butter at the dog store it comes in a whip cream type bottle... you can also put treats inside of it! good luck with your dog! dont go for sure on my answer make sure you ask vet or a manager at the store :)

im not sure what this is but it is like a water ski rople and it attatches to something with a clamp and it is bungie cord type rope and i got it for my 8 month golden retrevier you could put it on a tree or something he stays out there for hours pulling on it. theres only one thing it gets him a little bit stronger.

Toilet says you should obtain a small rawhide bone for your puppy.
Do not obtain the dried pig-ear chewing treat, for it will make a mess on your rug.
