I think that Europeans see themselves as part of the "whole". (i.e. the European Union) and Americans see themselves as individuals. This leads Americans to believe that Europeans are more socialistic in their beliefs and Europeans think Americans are more self-centered and selfish.
The world media beats up on America constantly and ignores any positives about the USA. American media is not much kinder to European countries. Each thinks the other is superior but we are all human beings, all with hopes and dreams.
We must learn that one-sided thinking leads to misconceptions about who and what we are individually.

Thousands of years of difference. They have the Greeks with Socrates, they have Rome...they have Spain. Every country it is very rich in history and culture. Just with Italy you have more that enough. Just one observation: the Europeans are very open that their children speak two or more languages, in U.S., they are against the idea the vast majority, even one judge say to a mother that she couldn't speak Spanish to her child (the father was White and she was Hispanic) because the Spanish language was spoken for servants or maids so he prohibit the mother to do so. People here don't know nothing about the world, the history of their own country, geography, nothing. I was watching the TV the other day and they were in the streets in California and were asking to the people with a world map where was located Korea and a couple put the flag in Australia. Other people said that they don't even heard before about Great Britain. It was a total mess, nothing to laugh. That tells you somenthing.

We Europeans ain't so brainwashed by our political system, and that is the main cultural difference. How many Americans can call themselves K Marx even if its just for a laugh?

Euros seem kinda fruity, ya know? and I just kinda get the impression that if an american fought a euro, the american would win. not because I think the american is tough, but because the euro seems weak.

Europeans wear little khaki shorts and climb up mountains for picnics.
