Amanda: But isn't Jesus God according to Christians?

Dear Affan: I am Christian, for I follow Jesus and the Holy Spirit. But, my background is Spirituality. Not Occult. Just pure Spirituality. The study of Spirit or Soul, as mankind calls it - and it's relationship to it's Creator, Brothers, and to Jesus and the Holy Spirit. In my studies, this is how I have been taught to understand a possible answer to your question:

I have learned to understand that the wording in any Bible, OT, NT, Koran, etc., contains impurities as to what was truly spoken, at the time it actually occurred. Word of mouth, passed down to other generations is somewhat like playing an American game called, "Telephone." The last person in the circle to repeat what was passed around by each person, to the other, comes out differently from what the original statement actually was at the start of the game. We all know this. . ..

Jesus was said to have died for our sins, in the tradition of Isaiah in the OT ; "Blood of the Lamb," and the entire concept, comes from Ancient Man's use of the Scapegoat. Man puts his sins and failings upon an animal (symbolically), and then leads the animal to it's sacrificial death (or slaughter). This action cleanses the sins. The entire concept is quite ancient. But, this is what Jesus has taught since - and beyond the NT which carried the same idea, and attached it to Jesus. Jesus DID see himself as the One spoken of in Isaiah. BUT, he had a different sense of the importance of the Crucifixion: "I elected, for your sake and mine, to demonstrate that the most outrageous assault, as judged by the [human Intellect], DOES NOT MATTER. . . .I was betrayed, abandoned, beaten, torn, and finally killed.. .I had not harmed anyone and had healed many."
He sees it in this manner, because the final demonstration of this "outrageous assault," the Resurrection, is the completion and highest teaching of the entire episode : God Created Spirit or Soul, like Himself. He is an expansive God, Creating more of Himself. His Beloved Son is the soul or spirit-mind inside each of us. It lies behind the human Intellect in this physical experience we are having. The soul is an Eternal property. All earthly things are perishable. The Created Being is not perishable. THIS was his greatest contribution to mankind. Jesus has further stated, that no one can - of course - die for anyone else. No one can pay for anyone else's "sins." He cleanses his believers by what he Teaches them. He cleans and clears away the misperceptions, the faulty thinking, the wrong decision making that leads to lower thoughts and error - called by mankind "sin." He saw himself as the sacrifical lamb because he was willing to demonstrate the Resurrection on our behalf as the most potent teaching tool mankind will ever witness.
Jesus had a slightly different concept of what he was about to do, from what was written of it in the NT. When understood, in this context, there is no "guilt" upon anyone. We, individually, must go through the mental process of having our errors corrected by him and the Holy Spirit. It truly is a process. When you are of a different faith - you may object to that statement and think that there are other great Teachers, as well. Yes. There are. I personally made the choice for Jesus.

In the Temple, teaching, he said, "If you do not believe what I am saying to you - I do not judge you. I came not to judge you." He has taught me to be, AT THE LEAST, that open minded.

Lastly, many Christian denominations teach Trinity focus. That makes Jesus God Incarnate. Other Churches are simply Christ focused. (He is man.) Still others are God focused. We take our pick amongst them !

Jesus taught me this: "Equals . . .[all sons of God] should not be in awe of one another, because awe implies inequality. It is, therefore, an inappropriate reaction to me. An elder brother is entitled to respect for his greater experience, and obedience for his greater wisdom. He is also entitled to love because he is a Brother, and to devotion IF he is devoted. It is only my devotion that entitles me to yours. There is nothing about me that you cannot attain. I have nothing that does not come from God. The difference between us now, is that I have nothing else. This leaves me in a state which is only potential in you." Jesus further states that he was the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, for the Holy Spirit had put out a call - throughout the Sonship - for one who would be willing to teach the "course" the Holy Spirit would teach to him, and demonstrate it on earth amongst his Brothers. Jesus answered that Call ; He is Sonship - as we all are. All quotes are from "A Course in Miracles."

Best regards, Lana

Wow. Amidst all the chaff, an actual decent question!

Guilt. Not really. More gratitude, actually. G\od tells us that ALL men have failed, so nothing I did is any better or worse than anyone else in the sea of humanity. The only difference between them and me is that God chose me from among the masses to know and love Him back. I'll admit I haven't the faintest idea why He would do that, but I'm very happy that He did. And as the perpetual optomist, I hope that you, too have been called to Him, and are just working things out in your own mind.

Yes I felt guilty for my sins and no it is not overwhelming as it has been forgiven by the atonement and now I celebrate the fact that God's will has come to pass and the victory has been won. God's plan before he created you was to bring you to his righteousness and to make you perfect. He did not plan ot join you in your sin. God's perfect plan was to defeat sin and death and it was accomplished and should be celebrated it is a victory not a defeat Christ is still on the throne. You surely must understand Christ had a victory over death he is not dead but reigning with the Father in heaven the defeat is Satan who would love for you to believe with him that God is not righteous and agrees with sin and that Christ never died or is indeed dead. The victory over sin and death is nothing to grieve about but it is the good news the Gospel. EDIT I am sure you are Muslim have you considered the fact that the Qu'ran calls the Gospel the good news and denies the atonement? How could whoever wrote it not have had the understanding that it is called the good news because of the aotnement the victory over sin and death it is a major flaw in the Qu'ran. If Allah gave Jesus the Gospel how could he have said that those who believe in it a deceived he glories in causing them to believe a lie about the crucifiction...This is Satan's plan and the Qu'ran agrees with it and Allah was pleased to be a deceiver? There are many more problems wiht Allah calling himslef the God of Abraham when he could not have been this God...The God of Abraham did not deceive and considered Satan to be the great deceiver and the good news is victory over sin and death.

No I don't. I feel greatful. To live with guilt about a gift like this could only come from Satan, or you are living a sinful unrepentive life you don't want to change.

There is no reason for guilt only gladness.

No, I don't. I feel guilty when I sin, because I know that Jesus had to feel all that pain on the cross for me. But I am ever thankful and grateful to God for what he did for me.

Jesus didn't die because of my sins. He died so I wouldn't be punished for them. His death was not a result of my actions, but an attempt to save me from them. I don't feel guilty about how much God loves me. I feel guilty because I rarely show Him how much I love Him.

Not guilty at all.
Grateful.
Psalms 100:4
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

I feel glad that God cared enough about us that He would die for our sins. I feel sorrowful for all those who continuously deny God trying to redeem unsaved souls so that they also can enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

The guilt was taken care of when we receive God's forgiveness through Christ. There is therefore no condemnation....

You say that as if you believe it as a fact. Good. The fact is that the Bible tells us that He died for everyone.
