i have to do a report on it and don't know wear to look.

Overseas it is 18 and in the US it is 21.

In the US, on or off base, it is 21. If you are caught drinking underage, you will be charged under the UCMJ for disobeying a lawful order and conduct unbecoming.

Overseas, the drinking age is determined by the country you are in. It's the whole "when in Rome...." thing.

The exception to that is if the command decides otherwise.

I was in the Corps, stationed on Okinawa. When I got there, the drinking age was 18 for service personnel. During my time there, due to the fact many service people under 21 were getting into trouble, the command raised the drinking age to 20. And, you still fall under the UCMJ as I stated above for these offenses.

Legal drinking age is 21 in most states. The Army doesn't set that limit. As far as I know.

ucmj. the military would allow alcohol consumption based on several criteria including but not limited to: will ti cause you to not be able to perform your mission, the country of origin you are in, EG you cant drink anything in iraq and most muslim countries, lcoal issues that have occurred at certain establishments, commanders personnal policies and beliefs, the country you are ins age restrictions.
