My mom used to always tell me to never shave my legs, but I never listened. Now I have to put up with shaving legs. My mom has never shaved her legs in her entire life, and she doesn't have any hair on them at all. Can someone explain?

You know, my mother used to do the same thing. She rarely shaved her legs, and the hairs on her legs were very minimal, and thin.
I only shaved about once every few months, and now I'm 36, and the hairs on my legs are barely noticeable, and thin. I find the difference between my friends, who shave their legs regularly, and whose hairs come back, thicker, or more coarse. But, there is a difference.
I only shave my legs in the summer, though, once or twice. Maybe there is the odd time in the late winter, but I've never really had to to begin with.
Every time you shave your legs, the hair will come back faster, thicker and more coarse, over time. If you've already started shaving your legs, then you'll notice the more you shave, the more faster the hairs come back. You're basically 'feeding' into the hair's need to grow back, faster.

never shaving your legs doesn't mean no hair will grow, its always going to grow so you will have to shave at some point. The only problem is that every time you do shave it grows back thicker the next time so its more noticeable and you will need to shave more often, maybe your mum just doesn't have much hair on her legs, some girls have very little

The hair would not substitute all that lots, however the stubble is sharper than in case you have been to apply an epilator, and you'd be greater probable to get ingrown hairs in case you employ a razor. I had darkish hair on my legs at 9 years old. It did no longer get darker or thicker while i began out shaving, however the stubble is amazingly scratchy like sandpaper. in case you are able to stand epilating, you will bypass in direction of the comparable technique your mom did and could no longer could subject approximately leg hair once you're older. I want i did no longer have such gentle dermis. i'm getting rashes truthfully. If i could use an epilator or a cream like Nair, i could. it incredibly is well worth it to no longer have darkish hairs at a youthful age.

If I had never shaved my face, even the fir time, I'd either look like Rip Van Winkle, or Santa Clause by now.
I guess you'd have awful hairy legs,
Hmmm, How come my legs aren't as hairy as my face? I have never shaved my legs, and the hair never gets any longer. Also, I guess leg hairs don't get white like the scalp and whiskers do.

I have heard that if you shave "peach fuzz" it will grow back darker, but it didn't work that way for me. When I reached puberty I started getting hair on my legs and I had no choice but to start shaving.

It is a matter of genetics, not shaving. If you want to remove leg hair, try waxing or laser removal (permanent solution). And yes, there are some lucky ones without hair on their legs ... not me ...

well.
i know pretty much for a fact that once you hit puberty, you get those annoying prickly hairs, but some indians do not grow hair on there legs, so maybe your mom has some indian in her, anyway, i'm pretty sure the only way you can stop hair growth is waxing, and that doesnt last forever.

That is absolutely not true for most people.
However, there are some exceptions, like I have Asian friends that don't grow any leg or armpit hair at all, & I am so jealous of them! Also, some African-Americans don't grow any either!
